So I want to talk about drug testing for those who are applying for and qualify for welfare benefits. I for one, who received welfare benefits in the past, would have no problem what so ever being drug tested. I believe that we who work to pay the taxes that pay for these benefits have to be drug tested, then the ones who are on the receiving end should have to pass a drug test also. After all I know it is hard to get welfare and even harder to get off it. Once you earn 1.00 more they boot you out, and trust me that little ole dollar is not enough to sustain your family, this I know from personal experience. However, I also know that we have people out there that 'abuse' this system and get all the benefits they can and lie to get them. How many of you know of at least two people who are getting welfare benefits who have people living with them, paying them rent which is not reported? Or how about those ones who share custody of their children with their ex and don't actually have the children with them full time, but report that they do? Hmmm, so OK, alright drug testing them is not going to stop that, yea yea..... however, it will stop the ones who are using drugs, getting their food stamp benefits and selling them off to purchase more drugs. Yea, come on... you KNOW that is going on. We are all not that naive.. OK so pass the damn law that states if you want benefits that are being paid by drug free people, then you have to be drug free as well.
My next rant, is for those who wish to control our right to bear arms... yea that is going to be good....
